Remarkable Sights from Arthur’s Seat

Get out of the hustle-and-bustle of Edinburgh for a day

Take in stunning views of the city from the summit of an extinct volcano, and discover Edinburgh’s unique history and folklore with a local guide.

Have you ever ventured outside of the main city to discover its beautiful surroundings? Edinburgh has breathtaking green spaces steeped in history and mythology right on its doorstep, and we want to take you there.

Over 2 and a half hours, we will walk a route through the scenic royal reserve of Holyrood Park, climbing up to the summit of Arthur’s Seat, before descending and taking in spectacular views from the iconic Salisbury Crags. On the way, you’ll see stunning views of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, from the dockyards of Leith, the majestic Firth of Forth and the verdant hills of East Lothian.

While we walk, you will hear stories of Edinburgh’s historical past; its creation and triumphs, its darkest moments (including some violent battles and horrid murders), and its momentous scientific discoveries!

See Edinburgh from a new perspective.

What our Guests say

“This is one of the best tours I’ve ever been on!!! The guide was John, he was so funny and such a great story teller, he really made the experience, it was a small group just me and another lady, who I became friends with at the end which was lovely so it felt much more personalised. The walk itself was great, my legs are sore today though! This was truly a magical tour, I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone”

“This tour is truly remarkable, and all thanks goes to John who has super storyteller — a lot of interesting historical facts, yet not in a boring way! Can recommend to anyone who is visiting Edinburgh!”

“Fabulous tour!! Our guide, John, was delightful. He kept us entertained, informed and in good spirits the entire time. We learned a lot, laughed a lot and experienced gorgeous views, fresh air and good exercise. John willingly adjusted based on our need for breaks along the way, so it was a pleasant experience for everyone. Highly recommend this tour!”
