Explore Soho with a local musician…

…and witness the evolution of London’s music scene from the early 1900s to modern day.

Our guide Jess will transport you back in time to explore how London’s music scene has evolved over the past century. From the birth of London pop in Soho’s coffee bars to the establishment of the first rock club in Europe; the debut of some of Britain’s most legendary artists in Soho’s live venues to the establishment of recording studios used by the likes of Queen and Elton John – you will discover the instrumental role Soho played (and still plays) in London’s rich musical heritage.

Hear stories about legendary musicians that have lived, performed, and recorded in Soho’s narrow, bustling streets and see first-hand iconic music venues and studios like Ronnie Scott’s and Trident. Discover something you didn’t know about London’s music history.

And of course, no music tour would be complete without some live music. So, Jess will provide you with recommendations of her favourite live music venues – where you can enjoy music from local London artists later in your trip!

“Our guide, Jess, was absolutely delightful. Beyond the sights and facts of the tour, she shared her personal experience in the music industry, engaged us in thoughtful conversation, and was a really fun person to spend a morning with. I hope to take her tour again in a few months when I return to London with my husband – he will love it as much as my daughter and I did!”

“An evocation of a lost world down the long and winding roads of London with an up-and-coming musician (aka Jess), makes this tour a splendid treat for anyone who is interested in the history and evolution of the London music scene. History is lived forward and written backward, but nonetheless this tour manages to stay fresh thanks to the unique perspective brought by Jess. Besides taking you back in time to the swinging sixties and other decades, she provide an impressive insight into how Spotify and social media plays a massive role for new independent musicians. Beethoven once said “Music is… a higher revelation than all wisdom & philosophy.” So it’s very simple. If you seek enlightenment, book this tour!”

“Amy organised a tour with the London-living soul and jazz musician Jess. The tour was very well organized and made a lot of fun. We got to see the most important locations, buildings and places of Soho’s rock’n’roll time. Jess knows every spot to go to and even told a lot of fun facts. The tour last two hours and at the end she recommended some great places for live music in London. We had very much fun and thanks to Jess you can still feel the spirit of Soho’s rock’n’roll time”
